Last headline band on Sweden Rock this year.
I think everyone was more or less there to see this show.
I don´t think there have ever been an artist that have had
so many in the audience at the Sweden Rock Festival.


I was on the left side, a bit far back. But the people didn´t talk that much,
just some sing-a-long stuff but that´s alright in my book.

Chelsea - Live At The Acklam Hall, Portobello Road, London.
8th November 1980.

I haven't seen this recording doing the rounds so I've encoded
my old tape, obtained from Dave Ferguson. It's a strange show
with just a few songs and annoyingly long gaps between, but it's
a superb recording of the band just as they were gaining
popularity and a dedicated following drawing mainly from the
housing estates of Whitton and Hounslow in West London. Up
until then they had been pretty much despised by the press and
punks and were more popular in the States. Maybe it was the
dyed blond haired image but I always liked them.

This show was on a Saturday afternoon for whatever reason I
don't know. Gene October mentions the following nights gig
with Infa Riot wich was at the Lyceum and featured the second
album line up but I'm certain this isn't them here but I may
be wrong. I've given the gaps their own track numbers but
also included an unedited version of the whole show as it's
not that long.
